... factors at design time, but with 2V DD and roughly 40% less current, one can estimate the increase in 10%-15%, thus saving 10%-15% system-wide power [2]. IR drop is also reduced, since it is proportional to the current, thus in our design, we expect around 40% reduction in IR drop (which could be co ...

... Power inverters [1][2] are used most commonly as power household devices in areas where there is no access to the national power grid. They are used to raise the voltage from a battery pack or an unconventional energy generator (wind mill or solar panel) to a signal which has a Root Mean Square valu ...

DS1314 3V Nonvolatile Controller with Lithium Battery Monitor

... The DS1314 performs all the circuit functions required to provide battery-backup for an SRAM. First, the device provides a switch to direct power from the battery or the system power supply (VCCI). Whenever VCCI is less than the switch point VSW and VCCI is less than the battery voltage VBAT, the ba ...

Metadyne

A metadyne is a direct current electrical machine with two pairs of brushes. It can be used as an amplifier or rotary transformer. It is similar to a third brush dynamo but has additional regulator or ""variator"" windings. It is also similar to an amplidyne except that the latter has a compensating winding which fully counteracts the effect of the flux produced by the load current. The technical description is ""a cross-field direct current machine designed to utilize armature reaction"". A metadyne can convert a constant-voltage input into a constant-current, variable-voltage output.
