... We previously developed a method to classify the states of Cyg X-1 at any given time based on hardness and intensity measurements with the RXTE/ASM and MAXI and on the hard X-ray flux obtained with the Swift/BAT (Grinberg et al. 2013). The ASM and MAXI data can be used to separate all three states (L ...

The electronic spectra exhibit strong ligand-centred absorption bands around 270–290 nm and dipyridophenazine p→p* transitions in the 350– 400 nm region. The low intensity shoulders (centred at about 420 nm) may be attributed to d–d transitions. The ...

Light trapping in thin film organic solar cells
Light trapping in thin film organic solar cells

... Light trapping can be achieved upon novel designs of the device geometry [29–33]. A folded or V-shaped geometry is interesting, as its formation requires one single additional step, which is to fold the cell [29]. This can be easily done when a plastic substrate is used. A schematic device architect ...

Astronomical spectroscopy

Astronomical spectroscopy is the study of astronomy using the techniques of spectroscopy to measure the spectrum of electromagnetic radiation, including visible light, which radiates from stars and other hot celestial objects. Spectroscopy can be used to derive many properties of distant stars and galaxies, such as their chemical composition, temperature, density, mass, distance, luminosity, and relative motion using Doppler shift measurements.
