... transition temperature of the plastic, approximately 150°C. Exceeding this limit temporarily can cause a shift in parametric performance due to a change in the stresses exerted on the die by the package. Exceeding a junction temperature of 175°C for an extended period can result in device failure. W ...

Benefits of a multiphase buck converter

... low-voltage converter applications with currents of up to approximately 25 A, but power dissipation and efficiency start to become an issue at higher currents. One suitable approach is to use a multiphase buck controller. This article briefly discusses the benefits of using a multiphase buck conver ...

Driving LEDs with a PIC Microcontroller Application Note

... The multiplexer can be digitally controlled by the microcontroller. Each LED is assigned an address which allows it to be selected by the PIC, in order to determine the current passing through the diode for current regulation or to assist in failure recognition. ...
The Capacitor
The Capacitor

... Objective: To study the properties of capacitance as they concern the discharge of a capacitor through a resistor. DISCUSSION: A capacitor is a device for storing charge. In its simplest form it may be thought of as two parallel conducting plates which lie very close to one another but which are ele ...

... Figure 1 shows the basic connections required for operation of the PGA204/205. Applications with noisy or high impedance power supplies may require decoupling capacitors close to the device pins as shown. The output is referred to the output reference (Ref) terminal which is normally grounded. This ...

... The STUSB03E is designed to provide USB connectivity in mobile systems where available system supply voltages are not able to satisfy USB requirements. The STUSB03E can operate down to supply voltages of 1.6V and still meet USB physical layer specifications. As shown in the circuit above, the STUSB0 ...

... is resistance. Before we talk about resistance, let’s talk about wires. Can anyone tell me what a wire is? (something that conducts electricity, a piece of metal). Yes, a wire is all of these things. But primarily, a wire is something that guides electrons to flow where we want them to. So, you can ...

Current mirror

A current mirror is a circuit designed to copy a current through one active device by controlling the current in another active device of a circuit, keeping the output current constant regardless of loading. The current being 'copied' can be, and sometimes is, a varying signal current. Conceptually, an ideal current mirror is simply an ideal inverting current amplifier that reverses the current direction as well or it is a current-controlled current source (CCCS). The current mirror is used to provide bias currents and active loads to circuits. It can also be used to model a more realistic current source (since ideal current sources don't exist). The circuit topology covered here is one that appears in many monolithic ICs. It is a Widlar mirror without an emitter degeneration resistor in the follower (output) transistor. This topology can only be done in an IC as the matching has to be extremely close and cannot be achieved with discretes.Another topology is the Wilson mirror. The Wilson mirror solves the Early effect voltage problem in his design.
