Starting Performance of Synchronous Motors
Starting Performance of Synchronous Motors

... This method of calculation, where the torques in the two axes are calculated independent of each other, is only accurate enough when Yd and Yq are of about the same order of magnitude. In practical terms, this means that the damper winding must have complete endrings with connections between the pol ...

... It was shown later by another Italian, the nobleman Count Alessandro Giuseppe Volta (1745–1827), that Galvani’s frog’s leg is not producing electricity, but is merely reacting to the passage of electricity, i.e., to currents. The pressing question in Volta’s time was as follows: How could these curr ...

Exercise 2 - DMCS Pages for Students

... The aim of this exercise is to get acquainted with the thyristor (SCR and triac) and—based on the example of a triac-based AC/AC converter—to introduce the idea of semiconductor switch as well as of electronic converters working in switched mode. The investigated circuit will also give an opportunit ...

... Alternating Current (AC) is the world standard for driving motors and other electrical equipment. As the name implies, an alternating current continually and periodically changes direction, going first one way and then reversing. One may consider an alternating current to be a DC current, which is c ...

Further reduction of the supply voltage forces the main switch to remain on for more than one cycle until it reaches 100% duty cycle. ... The circuit is completed with the voltage profile derived from the unity driving waveform which controls a dependant resistor tied to the n and p loads. In this case the loads are 50 ohms. We need to insure we don’t divide by zero and also do not result in an exact 0 ohm resistance. Introduction ...

Atmel ATR4251C Low-noise, High-dynamic-range AM/FM Antenna Amplifier IC Features

... Due to the long wavelength in AM bands, the antennas used for AM reception in automotive applications must be short compared to the wavelength. Therefore these antennas do not provide 50Ω output impedance, but have an output impedance of some pF. If these (passive) antennas are connected to the car ...

... Conductors (e.g. Wires) have very low resistance (<0.1 Ω), which is usually be neglected (i.e. We will assume that wires have zero resistance). Current mirror

A current mirror is a circuit designed to copy a current through one active device by controlling the current in another active device of a circuit, keeping the output current constant regardless of loading. The current being 'copied' can be, and sometimes is, a varying signal current. Conceptually, an ideal current mirror is simply an ideal inverting current amplifier that reverses the current direction as well or it is a current-controlled current source (CCCS). The current mirror is used to provide bias currents and active loads to circuits. It can also be used to model a more realistic current source (since ideal current sources don't exist). The circuit topology covered here is one that appears in many monolithic ICs. It is a Widlar mirror without an emitter degeneration resistor in the follower (output) transistor. This topology can only be done in an IC as the matching has to be extremely close and cannot be achieved with discretes.Another topology is the Wilson mirror. The Wilson mirror solves the Early effect voltage problem in his design.
