... regulating tube 12AT7 is allowed to function. The top (-13.5) of the transfer pulse is, accordingly, regulated. One circuit of interest is the unit gain electronic voltage divider. It is composed of two 12AT7's in cascade. The lower tube, with a 24K resistor in its cathode, is a constant current tub ...

Jun 2006 Reduce Charge Time for High Capacity Li

... The latest high capacity Li-Ion batteries meet the needs of power hungry portable devices, but they also increase the demands placed on battery chargers—demands that can be too much for a standard linear charger. For instance, a linear charger, operating at 1A charging current, charges a 1Ahr batter ...

... insurances. Furthermore, the fact that dry transformers have much less need for service, accounts to the result. As a conclusion it can be seen that the total cost difference of a 72.5 kV dry transformer to an oil transformer is rather small. If system considerations are taken into account, the appl ...

... DC Bus Ripple and Single Phase Input Power The standard Pulse-Width-Modulated (PWM) VFD contains a 6-pulse diode rectifier because of its simplicity and low cost. The 6-pulse rectification results in 360 Hz DC bus ripple when used with a three-phase 60 Hz supply. Refer to Figure 1. The DC bus ripple ...

Buck converter

A buck converter is a voltage step down and current step up converter. The simplest way to reduce the voltage of a DC supply is to use a linear regulator (such as a 7805), but linear regulators waste energy as they operate by dissipating excess power as heat. Buck converters, on the other hand, can be remarkably efficient (95% or higher for integrated circuits), making them useful for tasks such as converting the main voltage in a computer (12V in a desktop, 12-24V in a laptop) down to the 0.8-1.8V needed by the processor.
