... From Fig. 2, it can be seen that incrementing (decrementing) the voltage increases (decreases) the power when operating on the left of the MPP and decreases (increases) the power when on the right of the MPP. Therefore, if there is an increase in power, the subsequent perturbation should be kept the ...

Top Five Switchgear Failure Causes
Top Five Switchgear Failure Causes

... Localized partial insulation failures are known as partial discharges. Fortunately, the partial discharge activity creates detectable signals which are the early warning signs of future complete insulation failure. The solution to preventing medium-voltage switchgear failures begins with utilizing t ...

... Vi = Vo / Av will go to zero when Av is infinite. This, however, assumes that there is some way for the input to be affected by the output. Indeed this will only happen if there is negative feedback in the form of a connection between the output and the inverting terminal (closed loop operation). Fo ...

Buck converter

A buck converter is a voltage step down and current step up converter. The simplest way to reduce the voltage of a DC supply is to use a linear regulator (such as a 7805), but linear regulators waste energy as they operate by dissipating excess power as heat. Buck converters, on the other hand, can be remarkably efficient (95% or higher for integrated circuits), making them useful for tasks such as converting the main voltage in a computer (12V in a desktop, 12-24V in a laptop) down to the 0.8-1.8V needed by the processor.
