... 1) Design and construct either a high or low pass RC filter with a 3 dB point of about 600 Hz and a minimum impedance between 5 kW and 50 kW. Measure the frequency response (i.e. voltage gain and output voltage phase shift relative to the input voltage) of the filter you built in part 1) to a sine w ...

... Behlman’s DCA2000 series of COTS power supplies are highly reliable, switch mode units built for high-end industrial or MIL applications. The DCA series accepts three phase “Y” or delta inputs and can supply a variety of DC from 3.3 VDC to 100 VDC outputs. Output power levels range from 1500 W to 30 ...

... Photovoltaic (PV) solar arrays can be used to power mobile devices; however, solar array output power is non-constant and most mobile device chargers require a constant voltage and current source. Team dec1013 purposed building a MPS that would supply a constant voltage and current to mobile devices ...

... For current to flow in a circuit we need a complete path. This means any gaps or breaks and all current will stop. The simplest circuit requires at least a voltage source, a resistor, and wire to connect the circuit. An example is a flashlight which uses a battery, bulb, and metal to complete the ci ...

Buck converter

A buck converter is a voltage step down and current step up converter. The simplest way to reduce the voltage of a DC supply is to use a linear regulator (such as a 7805), but linear regulators waste energy as they operate by dissipating excess power as heat. Buck converters, on the other hand, can be remarkably efficient (95% or higher for integrated circuits), making them useful for tasks such as converting the main voltage in a computer (12V in a desktop, 12-24V in a laptop) down to the 0.8-1.8V needed by the processor.
