lesson 1 review of solving nonlinear inequalities

... Thus, to solve a nonlinear inequality, we will find all the real numbers that make a nonlinear expression equal to zero. We will also have to find all the numbers that make the nonlinear expression undefined. Thus, all the remaining real numbers, when substituted for the variable in the nonlinear ex ...

Triple linking numbers, ambiguous Hopf invariants and - MAT-UnB

... A complete set of invariants is given by the pairwise linking numbers p, q and r of the components, and by the residue class of one further integer µ, the “triple linking number” of the title, which is well-defined modulo the greatest common divisor of p, q and r. To each such link L we associate a ...

Mathematics of radio engineering

The mathematics of radio engineering is the mathematical description by complex analysis of the electromagnetic theory applied to radio. Waves have been studied since ancient times and many different techniques have developed of which the most useful idea is the superposition principle which apply to radio waves. The Huygen's principle, which says that each wavefront creates an infinite number of new wavefronts that can be added, is the base for this analysis.
