Wildebeest - Scientific Research Publishing

... Populations of wildebeest (Connochaetes taurinus) still persist in various parts of the African savanna biome, although both population types have suffered declines in various parts of the species’ range. Huge declines in wildebeest population have been reported in the Masai Mara ecosystem by 81% [1 ...

Intraguild interactions play a prominent role in shaping ecological communities, so over evolutionary time one might expect species that co-occur with a large number of larger, behaviorally ...

Ecosystems and Population Change Ecosystems and Population

It has become well established that competition and consumption exerted by native species has the potential to limit the success of non-native species, which is termed ‘biotic resistance’ (Elton 1958; Levine et al. 2004; Mitchell et al. 2006). Habitat conservation

Habitat conservation is a land management practice that seeks to conserve, protect and restore habitat areas for wild plants and animals, especially conservation reliant species, and prevent their extinction, fragmentation or reduction in range. It is a priority of many groups that cannot be easily characterized in terms of any one ideology.
