... The bulk of this literature ignores Arthur’s advice altogether, and much of the rest pays lip service–e.g. by citing Gödel’s cosmological model–and then turns inward to pursue philosophical gymnastics on the “grandfather paradox” and other paradoxes of time travel. The reader is left with the impres ...

... In order to explore a quantum version of a discrete nonlinear Schrödinger equation (DNLS), we quantize one nonlinear Schrödinger model, which is used to study different physical systems, e.g. coupled Bose-Einstein condensates. We will focus on small systems, like Dimer and Trimer. In our efforts to ...

Quantum fluctuations and thermodynamic processes in the presence of closed... by Tsunefumi Tanaka

... In recent years the physics of time travel has been hotly debated. The study of time travel falls into two categories: the (im)possibility argument on time travel and the exploration of physical effects due to time travel if it is possible. The first part of this thesis deals with a physical process ...

Instanton

An instanton (or pseudoparticle) is a notion appearing in theoretical and mathematical physics. An instanton is a classical solution to equations of motion with a finite, non-zero action, either in quantum mechanics or in quantum field theory. More precisely, it is a solution to the equations of motion of the classical field theory on a Euclidean spacetime.
