The Habitability of Our Earth and Other Earths: Astrophysical
The Habitability of Our Earth and Other Earths: Astrophysical

... Chlorophyll maps of the ocean (McClain et al. 2006) show regions where, despite ample water, photons, and nitrates, there are low concentrations of chlorophyll. Iron fertilization experiments in these enigmatic high-nitrate-low-chlorophyll regions found that the biomass was iron limited, rather than ...

Proper motion data in conjunction with the newly-estimated velocity components for the Sun’s motion imply a distance to the Galactic centre of R0 = 8.34 ± 0.27 kpc , consistent with recent estimates which average 8.24 ± 0.09 kpc. A cosinusoidal Galactic potential is not rule ...

... And finally to complete the classification, a temperature index can follow their spectral classification. This index is defined as θ = 50400/Teff . Therefore, a white dwarf showing Balmer lines with an effective temperature of 20 000 K will be classified DA2.5. The temperature index is not always pr ...

Aquarius (constellation)

Aquarius is a constellation of the zodiac, situated between Capricornus and Pisces. Its name is Latin for ""water-carrier"" or ""cup-carrier"", and its symbol is 20px (Unicode ♒), a representation of water.Aquarius is one of the oldest of the recognized constellations along the zodiac (the sun's apparent path). It was one of the 48 constellations listed by the 2nd century AD astronomer Ptolemy, and it remains one of the 88 modern constellations. It is found in a region often called the Sea due to its profusion of constellations with watery associations such as Cetus the whale, Pisces the fish, and Eridanus the river.
