measurement of resistance ratios
measurement of resistance ratios

... The two resistors to be compared, Rx & Rs, are supplied from different current sources and the ratio of the two currents is measured when the voltage drops across the two resistors are equal. The peak detector circuit of the current comparator is then used to maintain an ampere-turn balance between ...

Four-Wire TEC Voltage Measurement with the LDT-5900

... Four-wire voltage sensing is necessary in high current and high precision temperature control applications where the accuracy of the TEC measurements is critical. In this technical note, results from the four-wire cable characterization are presented, and differences between two-wire and four-wire m ...

Delta Modulation For Voice Transmission
Delta Modulation For Voice Transmission

... Delta modulation has evolved into a simple, efficient method of digitizing voice for secure, reliable communications and for voice I/O in data processing. To illustrate basic principles, a very simple delta modulator and demodulator are illustrated in Figure 1. The modulator is a sampled data system ...

Basic Electronics Electrical Power Background: Equipment: 1

... Power is defined as the rate at which energy is used, transferred, or transformed. Power is energy (Joule) divided by time and its unit is the Watt (J/s). Electrical power is the rate at which electrical energy is used. The electrical power used or dissipated by a resistor connected to an energy sou ...

Valve RF amplifier

A valve RF amplifier (UK and Aus.) or tube amplifier (U.S.), is a device for electrically amplifying the power of an electrical radio frequency signal.Low to medium power valve amplifiers for frequencies below the microwaves were largely replaced by solid state amplifiers during the 1960s and 1970s, initially for receivers and low power stages of transmitters, transmitter output stages switching to transistors somewhat later. Specially constructed valves are still in use for very high power transmitters, although rarely in new designs.
