... based. Over the years, the gaseous mixture of CO and H2 has had many names depending on how it was formed; producer gas, town gas, blue water gas, synthesis gas, and syngas, to name a few. In the 1800’s coal gasification was used to provide much of the syngas used for lighting and heating. The begin ...

... considerably to solve the greenhouse problem. The idea of CO2 capture and storage has received increased attention in the past few years. The CO2 from a power plant can be captured and stored underground to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere. To capture CO2 from a power plant, it need ...

... Grounded sorbent was thermally activated, what caused a significant development of surface area. During the studies of SO2 sorption, a model gas with a temperature of 300°C, of composition: sulfur dioxide at a concentration of 6292 mg/mn3, oxygen, carbon dioxide and nitrogen as a carrier gas, was us ...

Fate of Fuel-Bound Nitrogen and Sulfur in Biomass-Fired

... importance of mixing the combustion gases with the air jets, when modeling the NOX formation and final emissions of a boiler. Another objective was to gain knowledge about the formation of SO2 and sulfation of ash components during combustion of biofuels with different ash properties. This was done ...

possibilities and limitations of co-firing of biomass

... • Emissions of SO2, NOx and CO are only moderately influenced by synergy • Sulphur may have a decisive influence on dioxin emission • Sulphur, chlorine, potassium and Al-Si influence deposits on tubes • Etc—there are several other synergy effects that also need to be further investigated Bo Leckner ...

... the form of combustibles, to escape up the stack. But too much excess of air is also inefficient because it enters the burners at ambient temperature and leaves the stack hot, thus stealing useful heat from the process. “Maximum combustion efficiency is achieved when the correct amount of excess of ...

Circulating fluidized bed

The circulating fluidized bed (CFB) is a clean process with the ability to achieve lower emission of pollutants. By using this technology, up to 95% of pollutants will be absorbed before being emitted to the atmosphere. At the same time, the advantages of this technology outweigh the limitations, which made it favourable. However, the development of this technology is still at its early stages. With further R&D, this technology is predicted to bring numerous benefits to our society.
