... many-body state has an energy which depends on the boundary conditions set by the state of the qubits. Intuitively, this dependence results from a compression of the crystal, and hence, a decrease in the distance between two Rydberg excitations aR when the boundary qubits are not excited. Under free ...

... account of quantum mechanics. In particular it has the advantage that it turns quantum propensities into properties of the quantum systems themselves as opposed to relational properties of systems in their interaction with measurement devices, or with the environment. I claim that in this respect M ...

... Example 6. Consider again the reversible circuit from Fig. 1(b). Using the established mapping scheme from Sect. 2.3, a quantum circuit with depth 12 results (as shown in Fig. 3(b); none of the gates except for the single NOT gate can be executed concurrently). In contrast, applying the additional h ...

... The gate Vθ does not change the vector |0i but sends |1i to eθi |1i. Z is just Vπ . Unitaries are only rotating the state of the quantum system. Quantum fiction

Quantum fiction is a literary genre that reflects modern experience of the material world and reality as influenced by quantum theory and new principles in quantum physics. The genre is not necessarily science-themed and blurs the line separating science fiction and fantasy into a broad scope of mainstream literature that transcends the mechanical model of science and involves the fantasy of human perception or imagination as realistic components affecting the every day physical world. Quantum fiction is characterized by the use of an element in quantum mechanics as a storytelling device. In quantum fiction, everyday life hinges on some aspect of the quantum nature of reality. The genre reflects the modern human experience of new perceptions about material reality as affected by quantum physics, which transcends mechanical models of science and factors in imagination and human perception as components of reality. This genre is characterized by any or all of the following characteristics: The author's use of quantum mechanics to make possible supernatural, paranormal, or fantastic elements of a story in which reality appears to defy the laws of mechanical physics A character as a consciously influencing observer of reality The scientific recognition of an unquantified animating force of matter measured by Observer effect (physics), posited as consciousness or spirit A theme, character, or events of a story existing per an element explainable as reality according to quantum theory Adventures involving synchronicity, multiple dimension reality, interactive metaverses, parallel worlds or life as a multiverse Consciousness (a character or a reader) as an interactive influence in the creation and perception of reality and plot line Reality behaving unpredictably as per subatomic particles
