Ph410 Physics of Quantum Computation1

However, this idea was of great conceptual importance because it opened the door to quantum computation, bas ...

... the number of quantum states a system can assume, which is exponential in the number of constituents. For instance, to simulate the spins of N electrons, we need to store and manipulate 2N coefficients. For N = 50 this is already a number too large to handle for most computers. Even the famous law o ...

... A useful starting point is to try to think of philosophy of quantum probability as a subfield of philosophy of probability. Within this field Lyon (2010) distinguishes two central questions. The first concerns the interpretation of probability and the second the formalism of probability. The interpr ...

Local Equilibrium States in Quantum Field Theory in Curved

... The present work concerns itself with the conceptual problem of assigning thermal parameters to states in quantum eld theory in curved spacetime, and is based on the concept of local thermal equilibrium in the sense of Buchholz, Ojima and Roos. In this approach, point-like localized quantum elds, ...

Quantum field theory

In theoretical physics, quantum field theory (QFT) is a theoretical framework for constructing quantum mechanical models of subatomic particles in particle physics and quasiparticles in condensed matter physics. A QFT treats particles as excited states of an underlying physical field, so these are called field quanta. In quantum field theory, quantum mechanical interactions between particles are described by interaction terms between the corresponding underlying fields.
