PROBLEM SET Current, Voltage, and Resistance
PROBLEM SET Current, Voltage, and Resistance

measurement of resistance ratios
measurement of resistance ratios

... The two resistors to be compared, Rx & Rs, are supplied from different current sources and the ratio of the two currents is measured when the voltage drops across the two resistors are equal. The peak detector circuit of the current comparator is then used to maintain an ampere-turn balance between ...

500 VA Testing with the Slaughter 2525

... Many standards call for a hipot instrument capable of a 500 VA output (the hipot VA rating is a measurement of output power calculated by multiplying the maximum voltage by the maximum current output of an instrument). This 500 VA output requirement was likely stipulated to ensure the product would ...

EUP7982 300mA Low-Noise Ultra Low-Dropout CMOS Regulator with Fault Indicator

... The FAULT pin requires a pull-up resistor since it is an open-drain output. This resistor should be large in value to reduce energy drain. A100kΩ pull-up resistor works well for most applications. ...

... 1. Label the N node voltages. The node voltages are defined positive with respect to a common point (i.e., the reference node) in the circuit generally designated as the ground (V = 0). 2. Apply KCL at each node in terms of node voltages. a. Use KCL to write a current balance at N-1 of the N nodes ...

Wilson current mirror

A Wilson current mirror is a three-terminal circuit (Fig. 1) that accepts an input current at the input terminal and provides a ""mirrored"" current source or sink output at the output terminal. The mirrored current is a precise copy of the input current. It may be used as a Wilson current source by applying a constant bias current to the input branch as in Fig. 2. The circuit is named after George R. Wilson, an integrated circuit design engineer who worked for Tektronix. Wilson devised this configuration in 1967 when he and Barrie Gilbert challenged each other to find an improved current mirror overnight that would use only three transistors. Wilson won the challenge.
