Landauer`s Principle in Multipartite Open Quantum System
Landauer`s Principle in Multipartite Open Quantum System

... Logical irreversibility and heat dissipation are linked through the relation provided in 1961 by Landauer [1]: the erasure of information on the state of a system is concomitant with the dissipation of heat into the surroundings. In turn, such heat is lower-bounded by a change in the informationtheo ...

... (nature) also plays a role. But both genetic and brain memories are physical. With the demise of the body and the consequent decay of these physical memories, can the ego function? Another argument against the soul as ego has been raised by the psychologist Charles Tart. Tart (1990) points out that ...

Such predictions for their controversy have raised two possible standpoints. Firstly, electromagnetic potentials do exhibit measurable effects and are no l ...

A crucial feature of quantum mechanics is that a measurement of one variable of a system erases information ...

Time-Space Efficient Simulations of Quantum Computations

... known time-space lower bounds for classical algorithms (see [37] for a survey) hold for models with random access to the input and memory. This makes the lower bounds more meaningful as they do not exploit artifacts due to sequential access. Extending the standard quantum Turing machine model [8] t ...

Chu Spaces: Automata with Quantum Aspects

Such a bridge may ease the transitions of computer architecture to quantum devices, and of algorithms to quantum computing, by indicating how to relate concep ...

Orchestrated objective reduction

Orchestrated objective reduction (Orch-OR) is a hypothesis that consciousness in the brain originates from processes inside neurons, rather than from connections between neurons as in the conventional view. The mechanism is held to be a quantum physics process called objective reduction which is orchestrated by molecular structures called microtubules. The hypothesis, which was put forward in the early 1990s by theoretical physicist Roger Penrose and anaesthesiologist and psychologist Stuart Hameroff, has so far been rejected by the majority of cognitive scientists.
