... “The recent development of quantum information science and its potential applications have brought many of the fundamental questions of quantum physics to the mainstream…I discuss a system at the heart of these questions —quantum entanglement of the spin states of two individual massive particles at ...
Information Processing with Quantum Gravity
Information Processing with Quantum Gravity

... In general relativity, processes and events are causally non-separable because the causal structure of space-time geometry is non-fixed. In a non-fixed causality structure, the sequence of time steps has no interpretable meaning. In our macroscopic world, events and processes are distinguishable in ...

... The optical Mach-Zehnder interferometer is just one way of performing a quantum interference experiment – there are many others. Atoms, molecules, nuclear spins and many other quantum objects can be prepared in two distinct states, internal or external, labelled as 0 and 1 and manipulated so that tr ...

A quantum central limit theorem for sums of IID

... The central limit theorem (CLT) for sums of independent identically distributed (IID) random variables is one of the most fundamental result in classical probability theory. Together with its various extensions, this result has found numerous applications to a wide range of problems in classical phy ...

QUANTUM MEASURES and INTEGRALS

... considerable amount of literature has been devoted to this subject [1, 3, 5, 9, 10, 13, 15] and more recently a quantum integral has been introduced [6, 7]. At first sight this theory appears to be quite specialized and its applicability has been restricted to the investigation of quantum histories ...

Orchestrated objective reduction

Orchestrated objective reduction (Orch-OR) is a hypothesis that consciousness in the brain originates from processes inside neurons, rather than from connections between neurons as in the conventional view. The mechanism is held to be a quantum physics process called objective reduction which is orchestrated by molecular structures called microtubules. The hypothesis, which was put forward in the early 1990s by theoretical physicist Roger Penrose and anaesthesiologist and psychologist Stuart Hameroff, has so far been rejected by the majority of cognitive scientists.
