Quantum annealing with manufactured spins
Quantum annealing with manufactured spins

... Many interesting but practically intractable problems can be reduced to that of finding the ground state of a system of interacting spins; however, finding such a ground state remains computationally difficult1. It is believed that the ground state of some naturally occurring spin systems can be eff ...

Barr: “If free will exists, then scientific materialism is wrong” Thus, not surprisingly: • Materialists deny that we have free will • Some say it is altogether an illusion • Same say it just means that the choice was made without coercion from outside the person’s body [Paul says that without the H ...

Introduction to Quantum Entanglement Quantum entanglement is a phenomenon where pairs or groups of particles interact in such a way that the measurement of quantum state of one correlates relatively to the properties of the others. When a measurement is made on one member of an entangled pair, th ...

As soon as the rst qubit is measured (regardless of the basis), the superposition describing the entangled state collapses to the speci c state consistent with the measurement result. It is also suggestive that the same cause must be assigned to natural events of the same kind irrespective of distance and time. Orchestrated objective reduction

Orchestrated objective reduction (Orch-OR) is a hypothesis that consciousness in the brain originates from processes inside neurons, rather than from connections between neurons as in the conventional view. The mechanism is held to be a quantum physics process called objective reduction which is orchestrated by molecular structures called microtubules. The hypothesis, which was put forward in the early 1990s by theoretical physicist Roger Penrose and anaesthesiologist and psychologist Stuart Hameroff, has so far been rejected by the majority of cognitive scientists.
