Stress-Dilatancy Relation of Sea Deposits Off Mumbai Coast
Stress-Dilatancy Relation of Sea Deposits Off Mumbai Coast

... ABSTRACT: It is not unusual for the offshore deposits to carry loads in excess to their ultimate capacity, when these soils bear the loads of heavy oil platforms. These soils contain high calcium carbonate content, which make them prone to particle-crushing at these high loads. This paper investigat ...

Masses and widths are obtained by solving Schrödinger’s equation. Lattice QCD (LQCD) – The QCD equations of motions are di ...

A DEM-CFD approach to predict the pressure drop through an air

... Contact treatment is a crucial factor when trying to model a packed bed in CFD. Mathematically a contact point has an area of zero. Therefore to represent it mathematically with a mesh would require infinitely fine or highly skew cells. Very fine cells could lead to a large computational cost and ve ...

Investigation of magnetite formation from the systems Fe(III)/Fe(II

... Sample Magnetite 15 exhibits a six line pattern with strongly distorted (non lorentzian) lines suggesting a hyperfine distribution due to the corresponding particle size distribution (Fig. 4a). The best fit was obtained in a model of hyperfine filed distributions where the minimum value is close to ...

... Distances to stars that are relatively close to us can be measured using parallax. Parallax is an apparent shift in position that takes place when the position of the observer changes. To see an example of parallax, try holding your finger about 1 foot (30 cm) in front of your eyes. Now, while focus ...

Compact Muon Solenoid

The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment is one of two large general-purpose particle physics detectors built on the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN in Switzerland and France. The goal of CMS experiment is to investigate a wide range of physics, including the search for the Higgs boson, extra dimensions, and particles that could make up dark matter.CMS is 21.6 metres long, 15 metres in diameter, and weighs about 14,000 tonnes. Approximately 3,800 people, representing 199 scientific institutes and 43 countries, form the CMS collaboration who built and now operate the detector. It is located in an underground cavern at Cessy in France, just across the border from Geneva. In July 2012, along with ATLAS, CMS tentatively discovered the Higgs Boson.
