1) A body of mass 200 g is executing simple harmonic motion with an amplitude of
20 mm. The maximum force which acts upon it is 0.064 N. Calculate:
(a) its maximum velocity
(b) its period of oscillation
2) (a) State the conditions for an oscillatory motion to be considered simple
harmonic.
(b) A body of mass 0.30 kg executes simple harmonic motion with a period of 2.5
s and an amplitude of 4.0 x 10-2 m. Determine:
(i) the maximum velocity of the body
(ii) the maximum acceleration of the body
3) A particle moves with simple harmonic motion in a straight line with amplitude
0.05 m and a period 12 s. Find:
(a) the maximum speed
(b) the maximum acceleration of the particle.
