In the past few weeks, 1st grade classes learned about place value of
Information 2-digt numbers, even and odd numbers and number patterns.

MA.2.A.1.1 – Identify relationships between the digits and their
place values through the thousands, including counting by tens and
hundreds.
For your child to be able to skip count digits.
Digits - 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are digits.
Skip count – To start with any number and keep adding on the same
number.
Even numbers - 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, …

Odd numbers – 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, …

Give your child a group of small objects, such as beans. Have your
child count the objects and tell how many. Then have your child pair
the objects and tell whether the number is even or odd. Repeat with
a different number of beans.
