Elementary Math Resources Directions for Accessing Compass Learning’s Odyssey Software 1. Use the address www.compasslearningodyssey.com 2. Enter your child’s user name (He/she should be able to provide that for you.) 3. Enter your child’s password. This is the ID five-digit number that your child uses for his/her food service account, among other things. 4. Enter the proper school: a. Concord Elementary School is entered as Concord b. Bethel Springs Elementary School is entered as BSES c. Garnet Valley Elementary School is entered as Garnet 5. Once logged in, you and your child can proceed to his/her learning pathway. Areas that are faded are areas for which your child’s pre-assessment did not indicate a need for additional practice. Those that are brighter are areas that he/she will need to complete. Once your child begins working in a path, all activities in that part of the path will need to be completed before he/she can move to another path. Individual teachers may have provided information about how they wish the students to progress on the path, so please ask your child if he/she has been given specific information. Directions for Accessing the Houghton Mifflin Math Series Website The text resource that our students use currently is the 2001 Mathematics text published by Houghton Mifflin. The company has its own online resources for each chapter of the text, as well as some additional resources for each grade. You can access this site and the resources it provides by using the steps that follow. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Use the address www.eduplace.com/kids/hmm Select your grade level from the Math-a-rama screen. You will see numerous selections on the screen. Click on Houghton Mifflin Mathematics (2001) as the text. If you select “Extra Practice” from the offerings, you will be provided with practice questions for each chapter in the text. Please ask your child what he/she is learning about in class and that should help you focus in on the correct chapter. 6. Other areas from which you can work include Data Place, Brain Teasers, Extra Help, e-Games, and test-taking tips.
