Blane De St. Croix is a sculptor who works with geopolitical landscapes that serve as flashpoints
for discussion about the far-reaching social implications of climate change and contested borders. His
collaborative, research-based practice bridges the fields of visual art, cultural geography and
environmental activism; aesthetics and social justice are given equal weight in his work. Recent projects
have taken De St. Croix to the Svalbard Archipelago, the Gobi Desert, the Mexican-American border, and
the wetlands surrounding New Orleans. His work has been exhibited internationally at venues including
the Kathmandu International Triennial, Nepal; Smack Mellon, Brooklyn; Gasworks Gallery, London;
Socrates Sculpture Park, Long Island City; The Asia Society, Houston; and his gallery, Fredericks &
Freiser, New York.
The Bruce Museum is located at 1 Museum Drive in Greenwich, Connecticut. For more
