Hosting an Oral Cancer Screening Event
Our goal is to increase awareness of oral cancer through free screenings that also offer
access of expert medical professionals to the general population without the hassles of
insurance, referral needs, and registration.
The screenings are quick and easy. After only a few minutes, the patient will receive an
evaluation and any other information that may be helpful to them. The screening can take
place at any location with minimal set-up.
This is a purely voluntary event. There are no official reports given to patients or invasive
procedures performed. However, we are happy to give out additional information on the
problem and, if we come across a finding of genuine concern, then we would advise referral
to the appropriate physician.
The duration of the event may vary. Below are the following options:
 One-Day Screening: 3-4 hours
 Two-Day Screening: 2 hours each day
Scheduling the date of the screening:
If you wish to have the screening during operating hours, then a Monday or Friday would
be best. However, we are also available after business hours from 5pm-7pm on Monday,
Tuesday, and Friday.
Infrastructure required at venue:
 Space Indoors (5 Ft x 5 Ft)
 Small table and two (2) chairs
Additional Permissions:
 Poster display on easel to notify customers of event
 Advertising
o LSU will advertise the event. However, the host institution may advertise as
well, if desired.
There is no cost involved to the institution to host the event. However, charitable
donations are accepted to fund future oral cancer screening events.
