Getting Started:
To open Inspiration go to the Start Menu and Programs and find the Inspiration

The program will open as a blank document with a place for a main idea in the

You can change the shape of the Main Idea by going to View > Symbol Palette.
The symbols will appear on the left side and you can choose a different shape or
picture as your main idea.
You can add parts to the web by clicking the Create buttons on the toolbar. Click
on the direction that you want the new box to be added.
Use the Rapid Fire button to manually
create new boxes for your web. You can
then link them by using the Link button.
Use the Outline button to transform your diagram into a traditional outline. In the
Outline mode you can:
• Organize and rearrange topics by dragging
• Add new topics
• Develop topics into a written report using notes text.
You
can change the text color, background color, fill color, and more by going to
• Export your outline to a word processing program
Effect on the Menu bar.
You can format the Font, Size, and Style by going to Format on the menu bar.
Inspiration comes with templates for different subject areas already designed.
To see all the different templates available go to File > Templates. There are
even templates designed to help with lesson plans, sub. notes, and other teacher
duties. Be sure to check out the Critical Thinking templates as well. If you can’t
find what you need then it is really easy to make your own.
