workshops offer 2013
DanceLab provides workshops for professional dancers as well as amateurs which are based on different techniques of modern dance
including physical dance and improvisation. We also offer classes of body conditioning based on power yoga and pilates.
We offer vast variety of classes which may be conducted on a regular basis, within few-month time schedule or may be conducted
within one or few days. Workshops may be realized in any place in Poland and Europe.
Please find below detailed description of selected classes:
Body Conditioning 60/ 75/ 90 min
Intensive, uninterrupted series of exercises. Classes are designed on the basis of power yoga, pilates and stretching techniques. They
build stamina, improve coordination, balance and strengthen the deep muscles. To be provided both for professional dancers and
amateurs.
Improvisation 75min
The classes are based on a variety of improvisational techniques and passion to move which is dormant in every human being.
Workshop participants are providing feedback for your key words provided by a teacher, they are traveling in space, by using their own
movement abilities and individual movement experience. Classes are to develop imagination, musical sensitivity, self-confidence, and
efficiency of the whole body. To be provided both for professional dancers and amateurs.
Contemporary dance 75min
Classes are based on the specifically structured exercises, and movement choreographies. During the workshop, we are experimenting
with the dynamics, flow and extreme qualities of movement. To be provided both for professional dancers and amateurs.

Fascinates
One of the most innovative contemporary dance groups in Europe founded by Małgorzata Mielech and Zofia Jakubiec, former
dancers at the Polish Dance Theatre, possessing worldwide renown and regarded as the most prestigious dance institution in
Poland. Thanks to complex dance education and experience reached during work at Polish Dance Theatre DanceLab founders had
possibility to extend their artistic perspectives and technical skills which allowed them to realise the boldest and most amazing
dance projects. During their international career, they always remained open for influence of the most important individuals and
trends of the world of contemporary dance. They were also searching for the most preferable choreography style and method of
work in dance theatre. Their visits in Israel – world source of this fascinating art discipline – and cooperation with people originated
from this pattern of dance art turned out the milestones in their artistic way. Their creations are based mostly on the forms of
expression met in Israel and reflect their fascination with opportunities provided for professional dancers by GaGa – movement
language of Ohad Naharin. Projects realized by DanceLab are characterized by unique, so far unknown so far unknown in Poland,
approach to crossing the traditional borders of art and classical definitions of contemporary dance.
Premiere DanceLab’s performances „Sababa” (chor. M. Mielech/Z. Jakubiec) and „We bleed the same color” (chor. S. Pratt) took

Małgorzata Mielech – graduated from Poznan Olga Slawska-Lipczynska Ballet School (2007). In the years 2007-2012 dancer, soloist in Polish Dance Theatre. Dancing in the whole
repertoire of Polish Dance Theatre and working with many choreographers including in particular: Ohad Naharin (Minus 2), Jacek Przybyłowicz (Barocco, the Dove's necklace), Yossi Berg
(Wo-man in tomatoes), Ewa Wycichowska (Spring-Effatha, Football@, the Battle of Carnival and Lent), Paulina Wycichowska (Desert, Alexanderplatz), Andrzej Adamczak (Permamently
by Coincindence), Thierry Verger (Summer-Red Sun), Gunhild Bjoernsgaard (Winter-Silent Sleep). Together with Zofia Jakubiec and Pawel Matyasik co-created performance
Nienasycenie. While being a freelance choreographer and dancer she created and performed a solo piece “Sacre”, directed by Krzysztof Raczkowski, on the 10th Poznań Ballet Spring in
the Grand Theatre in Poznan. In charge of stage directions at the concerts of Ray Wilson&Stiltskin and Genesis Classic (including tours promoting albums: Unfulfillment and Genesis
Classic). Engaged in production of videoclips of the band as an artistic director responsible for creation of movement and artistic content of video productions. Production manager of
photo sessions, responsible for their artistic side (including photo session for Michael Quigley, finalist of British Hairdressing Award). Participated in numerous dance workshops abroad
including among others Gaga Intensive Course in Tel Aviv and Barcelona as well as master classes with Tero Saarinen and Juan Cruz Diaz de Garayo Espano. Took part in workshops
conducted by Anna Nowak (Wayne McGregor | Random Dance) and Janusz Subicz (former member of Pina Bausch’ dance company). Participant of Couching Project with Maria Kong
Dancers Company. She is also giving dance classes for professionals and amateurs based on various contemporary dance techniques and body conditioning originating from dynamic
yoga and pilates. Together with Zofia Jakubiec, co-founder of DanceLab, independent dance company. Co-creator of choreography and other artistic projects for the group. The Premier
of “ Sababa” ( chor. M. Mielech, Z. Jakubiec ) and “ We bleed the same color” ( chor. Shi Pratt ) happened on the 7th and 8 th of June 2013 in the Polish Theatre in Poznań
Zofia Jakubiec – graduated from Poznan Olga Slawska-Lipczynska Ballet School (2007) and University of Arts, Interior Design and Scenography, MA in Fine Arts (2012). In the years 20072012 dancer in Polish Dance Theatre, working with many choreographers including in particular: Ohad Naharin (Minus 2), Thierry Verger (Summer-Red Sun), Andrzej Adamczak
(Permamently by Coincindence), Karolina Wyrwał (the Outline), Ewa Wycichowska (Football@, the Battle of Carnival and Lent) and Paulina Wycichowska (Desert, Alexanderplatz).
Choreographer and costume designer for performances created in Atelier and Dance Studio of Polish Dance Theatre (Arytmia, the Water, Femina). Together with Małgorzata Mielech
and Pawel Matyasik co-created performance Nienasycenie. Co-choreographed performances created in Polish Dance Theatre Atelier: Arytmia; and Dance Studio of Polish Dance Theatre:
Femina, the Water; as well as university projects: Sleepwalker, the Meek. Engaged in clothes and theatre costumes designing (created costumes in particular for: 3x3, chor. Agnieszka
Błacha,Nienasycenie, chor. Paweł Matyasik. Unknown, chor. Paweł Malicki, Double Trouble, Outline, chor. Karolina Wyrwał,Arytmia, chor. Z. Jakubiec, T. Pomersbach). Participated in
numerous dance workshops abroad including among others Gaga Intensive Course in Tel Aviv (summer and winter edition). Took part in workshops conducted by Anna Nowak (Wayne
McGregor | Random Dance) and Janusz Subicz (former member of Pina Bausch’ company). Participant of Couching Project with Maria Kong Dancers Company. She is also giving dance
