Our AMC D.U.I. (Davis Unified Ignition) is the only one-piece ignition
system for AMC’s. This is a simple, drop-in unit. The coil is inside the
cap and the module is inside the distributor. Just run one 12-volt wire
to the distributor and you’re ready to run! There is also an optional tach
hook-up included. The D.U.I. eliminates ALL of the messy wiring found on
stock AMC electronic ignition systems. This really cleans up your engine
compartment.
The AMC D.U.I. is available in either the Street/Strip version (up to
7,000 rpm’s) or the Racing version (up to 10,000 rpm’s). Both units will
allow you to run a whopping .055” spark plug gap, providing a more
powerful explosion of the fuel mixture. Our Dyna-Module is designed with
more dwell time producing a hotter spark. No ballast resistor is used.
GM D.U.I. DISTRIBUTORS - STREET/STRIP VERSION
Stock AMC systems, and many aftermarket systems require a ballast
resistor which reduces the voltage in the ignition system. Our D.U.I. allows
FULL voltage into the ignition system, giving you a better spark and more
power.

Every D.U.I. is curved on a distributor machine based on the specs of
your AMC motor. A super smooth curve will eliminate engine damaging
detonation and provide instant throttle response.
The AMC D.U.I. is a real work of craftsmanship. Although it is uniquely
designed, replacement parts are easy to find. High Energy Ignition
(H.E.I.) replacement parts will fit right on the D.U.I. The unit is polished
and lubed as it is assembled. Built for durability, the D.U.I. has an upper
and lower bushing, unlike stock AMC distributors with only one bushing.

Our Screamin’ Demon® Coil allows spark plug gaps to be
opened up to a whopping .065”! This larger plug gap exposes
more spark in the combustion chamber for a more complete burn
of the fuel mixture which increases horsepower, gas mileage and
keeps spark plugs cleaner. The Screamin’ Demon® Coil features
a brass terminal which is more conductive and resists corrosion
longer than the aluminum terminal on the stock coil. The Screamin’
Demon Coil is too hot for stock plug wires so a high quality wire such
as our Live Wires must be used with it. The Screamin’ Demon Coil mounts in
the original factory location with no modifications.

The Cap and Rotor kit features brass terminals which are more conductive and
resist corrosions longer than caps with aluminum terminals. This cap and rotor kit
has excellent dielectric strength and resists carbon tracking. Caps are available in
“racing red”, bright blue, or black.

The Live Wires® for the Jeep 2.5L, 4.0L and 5.2L are a high quality, low resistance
spark plug wire built with a protective heat sleeve. The glass braided sleeving is
designed to protect the wires up to 1400°F, promoting longer wire life due to the
heat protection. The spiral wound core will prevent electronic interference with the
radio. Live Wires® are precut and numbered at each end for the correct cylinder
allowing for easy installation. Available in black, blue, purple, red, silver, or yellow.
Specify color when ordering.
