Vacuum Switch
Pole mounted Vacuum
switch for electricity distribution networks
The vacuum switch reduces downtime, breaks and
closes with full load. It reduces numbers of costumers
affected by faults in the grid and increases the profitability in the network.
VAI 150 is a pole mounted vacuum switch
designed for use in overhead line distribution networks. The vacuum switch reduces
downtime, breaks and closes with full
load. It reduces the number of costumers
affected by faults in the grid and increases
the profitability in the network.
Secure work can be performed during service, because of the visible open point and
thanks to the integrated air break switch.
MORE INTELLIGENCE AND FLEXIBLE
COMMUNICATION
By adding more intelligence, sectionalizing
and flexible communication to the vacuum
switch the opportunities for a more efficient handling of the interruptions in
the net increases. Data and measurement
of various values, such as phase current,
voltage, power, frequency, earth fault, time
stamp and history logging can be seen
directly from the SCADA system.
The vacuum switch acts quickly and cuts
the power from the point where the
vacuum switch is placed, this happens be-
fore the substation even had time to react
and cut, this means that fewer people are
effected by the power cut.
DESIGN
The vacuum switches are cast in epoxy
resin with a protective layer of silicone,
which makes the poles very solid and protects the switches from bump and external
impact of moisture and dust.
The switches are equipped with robust
cable connectors that ensures trouble-free
life span and high service quality.
Current is measured in two or three phases
through current transformers and can
be fitted with zero crossing CT to detect
extremely low earth currents.
INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE
The vacuum switch is easy to install and
is mainly made of stainless steel, it needs
minimum of maintenance because of its
surface that has good resistance against
corrosion.
