Moulding Associates was founded in 1981 by Raford Cade. Back then, the company’s “headquarters” was a spare bedroom in his Dallas,
Texas, home. A family operation from the beginning, Cade and his sons, Jeff and Roger, began their sales efforts with an offering of five
models of doors. Sales started to build, prompting demand for more styles—and a change of address for the fledgling company, which
relocated in 1989 from the Cade family home to a dedicated manufacturing facility in Garland, Texas. The Cades’ vision was to offer doors
not seen anywhere else in the country, specifically unique designs of unusual species of hardwood. Their motto—“Nothing welcomes like
wood™”—reflected that vision.
Customers responded, fi rst in Texas, then beyond, and sales continued to grow. So much so, in 1999 the family found a bigger home for
their company in Wylie, Texas, where manufacturing and office operations are based today.
We are indebted to the people of Wylie for their warm embrace of our company and our people. In gratitude, following a fi re that nearly
destroyed the town’s historic area, MAi donated doors to all the businesses that rebuilt. MAi and the Wylie community are indeed one big
Texas family.
