RESPONSIBLE TO:
Senior Marketing Officer
JOB PURPOSE:
To support the Communications, Marketing and Engagement team in delivering its
communications, marketing, social media, web and engagement objectives.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:

To support the delivery of the team’s Communications, Marketing and
Engagement Strategy, Strategic Equality Plan and Welsh language scheme.

To support the team with the development and implementation of key
marketing campaigns/activities across a variety of council departments.

To plan, co-ordinate, draft and evaluate online and offline marketing collateral,
press releases and campaign activity.

To develop creative and engaging content for the council’s corporate social
media accounts and support the day-to-day management.

To develop and support the maintenance of web pages and databases.

To provide advice, guidance, information and practical assistance to staff
(including elected members) across the council.

To liaise with a variety of external contacts such as graphic designers,
suppliers, local media, translators, interpreters, citizens, partners etc.
Raise the profile of/promote compliance with the council’s Welsh language
scheme, strategic equality plan, brand guidelines and other relevant policies.


To assist with the organisation of events and meetings as required as well as
representing the authority at relevant meetings/conferences/events and
seminars.

To assist with evaluation of the effectiveness of the team’s activities.

To research, identify and gather examples of best practice and use it to inform
planned activity.
GENERAL DUTIES
To understand the Health and Safety responsibilities which fall within a manager’s
role and the personal Health and Safety responsibilities within the HASAWA 1974.
To ensure that all activities are operated in accordance with Equal Opportunities
legislation and Best Practice.
