Vishay Web Update: Change of Resistance
Due to TCR Calculator
Temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) is the relative change in a resistor's resistance value due solely to the cooling or
heating of the device. To help designers quickly determine this value change in their design, Vishay has introduced a new free
online tool to its website: the Change of Resistance Due to TCR Calculator. To use the tool, designers simply enter the initial
resistance value of their resistor — measured in Ω, µΩ, mΩ, kΩ, MΩ, GΩ, or TΩ — and a single TCR value or TCR range. Both
positive and negative TCR values can be used. Lastly, starting and ending temperatures are entered, measured in °C, °F, or K.
When the "Calculate" button is clicked, the resistance change is given in ohms. It's the fastest way to determine this
important value in your design. Try it today!
