POSITION TITLE: MRI/Radiologic Technologist
RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Diagnostic Imaging

JOB SUMMARY: Performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging exams of designated
anatomical areas as ordered/directed, according to established protocols.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Pleasant environment--Subject to electrical and
magnetic energy hazards
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:



High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program
ARRT registry in Radiology required and ARRT registry in MRI is
preferred
RELATIONSHIPS: Reports directly to Director of Diagnostic Imaging
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequency Scale: 1 = Rarely/Never; 2 = Occasionally; 3 = Frequently and 4 = Consistently

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate
care to the following patient population:

CORE DEPARTMENTAL COMPETENCIES- Review requisitions, check and prepare equipment and supplies.
 Identify and screen patients for possible allergies to contrast materials and
metal in body.
 Explain procedure to patient, position patient on table and use appropriate
coil for exam.
 Schedule and/or Reschedule patients as needed.
 Review/evaluate completed images for quality, completeness and type of
test ordered, provide histories to radiologist for complete diagnosis
 Monitor patient's condition during and after exam to ensure patients
safety.








Record/label images in sequence and with patient identification and other
information required by the Radiologist to make an accurate diagnosis
Able to enter exams in the Radiology Information System and PACS
Complies with established department policies, procedures, objectives,
quality
Attend inservice and other meetings as required. Attendance of 50% of all
department meetings is required.
Must adhere to hospital dress code.
Perform duties of Radiologic Technologist as needed
Able to send images from both cloud systems
Perform other duties as directed by Diagnostic Imaging Director

05/06/15 and the Medical Executive Committee on 5/14/15. Any changes to these
qualifications require review and approval of the Chief of Radiology and the Medical
Executive Committee, as well as updating the approval dates in this statement.
