Johnson County Community College Transfer Program to Wichita State University College of Engineering 2016-2017 Catalog Contact: Norman Bent, Dual advisor Phone: (316) 978-6460 E-Mail: [email protected] Web: www.wichita.edu/engineering The Associate of Arts degree (A.A.) at JCCC is a general transfer degree and partners well with the first two years of most bachelor degree programs. Students pursuing the A.A. may select courses that satisfy both the A.A. degree requirements and lower division requirements for a bachelor’s degree at four-year institutions. The elective hours within the A.A. allows students to complete additional general education and lower division courses required for specific majors. The A.A. degree requires completion of 64 credit hours, the maximum number of hours from a community college that will be applied toward a bachelor’s degree at most four-year schools. Meeting with a JCCC counselor is strongly recommended for selection of appropriate courses • The Johnson County Community College courses listed below meet general education requirements at Wichita State University. Students beginning at Johnson County Community College and with at least 24 earned hours at JCCC can use the WSU general education requirements. • The WSU General Education programs requires 42-45 hours. • College requirements and program prerequisites or requirements listed below can affect general education course choices. • The College of Engineering requires a grade of “C” or better for all coursework EXCEPT for Basic Skills courses. • Students must complete at least 45 hours of upper division coursework and 60 hours at a 4 year university. • At least 24 of the last 30 semester hours or 50 of the last 60 semester hours must be at WSU. • WSU Offers the following degree program in the College of Engineering: Aerospace (AE), Biomedical (BIOME), Computer Engineering (CE), Computer Science (CS), Electrical (EE), Industrial (IE), Manufacturing (IME), Mechanical (ME) and Engineering Technology (ET).
