rock cycle shows how rocks change.
The Rock Cycle Rocks
are continually undergoing a series of processes that change
them into other rocks. This repeated series of events is called the rock cycle. Usually
the changes occur slowly. Some changes occur rapidly, however, such as when
magma reaches Earth’s surface and cools quickly into igneous rock.
The diagram shows part of the rock cycle. The letters represent the major materials
involved. The arrows represent one possible path through the cycle.
