1. (35 points) Replace the force system acting on the pipe assembly by a resultant force
and couple at point O. Express the results in Cartesian vector form.
2. (30 points) The jib crane is supported by a pin at C and rod AB. The rod can
withstand a maximum tension of 40 kN. If the load has a mass of 2000 kg, with its
center of mass located at G, determine its maximum allowable distance x and the
corresponding horizontal and vertical components of reaction at C.
3. (35 points) Determine the horizontal and vertical components of reaction at the pin A
and the normal force at the smooth peg B on the member.
