Tuition Reimbursement Guidelines
Section 1: Eligibility

Must be a Fulltime Employees of the Pointe Coupee Parish School Board
Coursework must aligned for the attainment of either:
a) an advanced degree
b) teaching or leadership certification

Teacher requesting tuition reimbursement must have an effective performance rating and not be on an intensive
assistance plan.
PRIOR APPROVAL (Effective for all courses taken after December 2016): To receive reimbursement, course
tuition reimbursement pre-approvals must be approved prior to the start of the course.
A passing grade of C or better must be achieved, and the actual request for reimbursement must be made prior
to the deadline set forth in section 3.
Section 2: Reimbursement Allowances



Reimbursement will be determined on the yearly allocated budget and the number of requests submitted.
Max Reimbursement Allowance: Max annual allowance per employee =$1,600
Reimbursable Costs: Tuition Only
Section 3: Application Deadlines
Prior Approval Application (Mandatory for all courses taken after December 31, 2016)



December 1: Prior Approval Requests for January-May
May 1: Prior Approval Requests for May-July
July 1: Prior Approval Requests for August-December
Reimbursement Applications


February 1: Courses Completed between June-December (summer and Fall Semesters)
June 1: Courses Completed between January-May (Spring Semester)
Reimbursement Timelines


Checks for tuition reimbursement will be cut twice each year.
Applicants providing all of the required documentation with their reimbursement request will receive
reimbursement within 30 days. Returned applications will have to wait an additional 30 days.
Section 4: Repayment

Teachers receiving tuition reimbursement shall be required to remain an employee of the Board for two (2) school
years following receipt of tuition reimbursement. Teachers who voluntarily terminate employment shall return
75% of all tuition monies paid by the Board for the previous two (2) school years.

For actual monetary reimbursement, you must submit a copy of your grades, a copy of this form, reimbursement
application/expense voucher, proof of payment and a university fee bill to central office by the appropriate deadline.
