All personnel are trained and deemed competent to carry out all works
requested of them.
All equipment will be inspected by the user prior to use. Faulty equipment will
be withdrawn from service for repair or replacement.
All power tools will be PAT certified and be a maximum 110 volt or battery
powered where possible.

Working areas to be kept tidy & as clean as possible at all times. Frequent
removal of waste and debris to waste bin.
Close off the work area to others where possible.
Stack tools & materials in designated areas only & in a secure way with no
danger of them falling or covering walkways.
Slips, Trips, Falls;
Injury to body
Do not carry more weight than is comfortable.
If items are too large for user to see the floor, share the load with another
operative.
Toolbox talk weekly to remind operatives of importance of good house keeping.
Keep shoe laces tied up & ensure work boots are in good condition.
Power leads must be routed to avoid trips
Operatives encouraged to think of others at all times when placing items or
spotting hazards.
Hearing protection is provided and worn when using power tools and tile
cutting.

All personnel are familiar with safe kinetic lifting.
Adequate resource is available for team lifting.
Safety boots are to be worn at all times.
Mechanical lifting aids are available for use where possible.
Do not load more materials than is required!
Wear gloves at all times, wear trousers at all times to prevent adhesives &
grouts contacting skin. Wash hands regularly and before leaving site.
Hazardous Chemicals –
If any materials make contact with skin, remove immediately, wash
contaminated area & consult COSHH if there are any symptons
skin & eye conditions
Wear eye protection when mixing grouts & adhesives.
Eye wash station present at site office. Operatives shown during induction.
Wear a suitable respiratory mask when mixing materials, cutting materials,
removing debris (sweeping floors) and any other time air may be contaminated.
Keep masks on until such time the air is no longer contaminated. Do not create
dust inside a building unless absolutely necessary.

Use a vacume cleaner whenever possible
Use extraction vacumes on all power tools or wet saws where possible.
Ensure other contractors are not at risk.
