Transcript
The Voyage is a youth exchange organised by One World Link (OWL),
which links the community of Bo, in the West African country of Sierra
Leone, with the community of Warwick district in the UK. The theme of
the exchange is to build friendship and understanding between the two
communities, by empowering young people to make a positive
contribution to their communities and to society in general. This in turn
will help to deepen the personal friendships between young people at
both ends of the link, as well as highlighting issues of importance to the
youth communities.
We aim to achieve these goals by members of the delegation leading
and taking part in:
 Discussions between youth group members, young people and
school children;
 Drama pieces from each community, performed to each other;
 The use of media e.g. local radio and newspapers;
 Engaging with the OWL youth committee in Bo.
The group will stay in OWL’s community centre in Bo, and will be led by
two youth leaders, who are experienced in working with young people
and have previously visited Bo.
To apply you must live in Warwick district, and also be willing to
fundraise a small amount of the overall cost of your visit.
If you are interested in applying, then please fill in the application form,
and send it to: [email protected] or: The Voyage, 44
Helmsdale Road, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, CV32 7DW.
