JOB DESCRIPTION:
1.0
JOB SUMMARY:
1.1 Performing Civil works planning, designing and construction project management and
inspections of building structures and its foundations according to standard rules and
regulations.
1.2 To evaluate and to carry out assessment of drawing plans and design of new building and
other structures of all Civil work projects to provide conclusions as well as
recommendation report to the Director of Engineering.
2.0
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
2.1
Carrying out planning of civil works and building design and its foundations as well
as provide design calculations as necessary for new building and structural projects.
2.2
Carrying out inspections of all on going projects to provide assessment and
evaluation of the progress and development of the all civil works.
2.3
Provides Gantt Charts for all projects and Civil works construction schedule and
ensuring that the projected amount of time in completing a particular task is being
executed accordingly.
2.4
Ensures all on going construction projects strictly follows all details of specification
in the drawing plans and to certify that all materials are according to standards.
2.5
Ensures observance of American/British/European building standard and codes.
2.6
Evaluates and performing assessment of Civil works, structural and foundation
design, drawing plans and building and structural design to provide report to the
Director of Engineering.

To acquire and provide complete products and building materials information in
concern with the designing and planning of the building or any structure in relation
with the up –coming or on –going building construction projects.
2.8
Provides a report of the required extent of man power for a particular civil work
project.
2.9
Gathers field date, engineering calculations and sizing for all architectural building
systems and construction cost estimating.
2.10
Ensures the requisition of building construction materials, tools and equipment for all
Civil work construction projects.
2.11
Coordinates with outside contractor to evaluate and provide assessment of drawing
plans, design, bill of quantities and material requirements and the project schedule of
new or any up-coming Civil works and building projects.
2.12
Gather Field data, engineering calculations and sizing for all architectural building
systems and construction cost estimating.
2.13
Asses staff training needs to provide on the job training and assist in maintaining
records of all training carried out.
2.14
Re-assure the compliance of all activities in the projects with the Quality
Department.
2.15
Carries out other duties within his knowledge and capacity as required by the
Director of Engineering.

HOURS OF WORK
3.1 0700-1200} Saturday to Wednesday
1245-1700}
3.2 Any other hours t cover emergency work or planned out of hours works.

REQUIREMENTS

4.2
Qualifications or Relevant Experience:
4.1.1
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering graduate from a reputable
institution or from a well recognized College University.
4.1.2
Must be a Professional Regulation Commission Registered or has passed the
Professional Civil Engineer’s State Board Licensure Examination with a
Professional License I.D. from the Commission.
Personal Qualities:
4.2.1 Strong leadership ability in dealing with a multi-national work force.
4.2.2 Excellent organization ability.
4.2.3 Diplomatic manner in dealing with colleagues and hospital staff.
4.2.4 Fluent in English both in written and spoken.
4.3
Experience:
4.3.1
Minimum of Eighteen (18) years of experience in a reputable Engineering
Consultancy and Construction company.
4.3.2
With full exposure in building and structural design and calculation, planning
and construction management.

With knowledge in conducting soil test analysis and foundation design
calculations.

Well versed in scheduling of work and material estimates and preparation of
bill of quantities.
4.3.5
Has worked with the Design and construction team from start to finish and
the handing-over and building commissioning.
4.3.6
Well familiar with Building Management System.
4.3.7
With knowledge in the use of AutoCAD graphic tools and MS Office
software.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
5.1
As laid down by the Hospital and subject to amendment.
Remuneration will be commensurate with the category indicated above.
