Re: Special Enrollment Period for Group
If your employer does not currently offer group coverage because not enough employees will enroll or
because your employer cannot contribute toward the employee premium, you can still have access to
group coverage during the ACA Special Enrollment Period for the group market. (November 1, 2016 to
December 15, 2016 for a January 1 or January 15, 2017 effective date)
Why group coverage?

Access to national networks
More health plan types and varieties to choose from
Competitive premiums since individual health plans are expected to increase dramatically for
2017
How the Group SEP (Special Enrollment Period) works:



Employer must be eligible to be a group
Employer does not have to contribute to any of the premium
Only one employee needs to enroll
If your employer would like to discuss if they qualify for enrolling during the Group Market SEP, please
give them this letter and have them contact me. I would be happy to evaluate the group’s eligibility and
run quotes.
