How do I run an Activation using ACEmanager on CDMA networks?
This document describes the steps required to manually provision various models of AirLink devices that
run on CDMA/EVDO networks. While most AirLink devices support some form of automatic, over-the-air
(OTA) account activation, the procedure described here applies to provisioning a new, out-of-the-box
device that has not had an account associated with it previously.
Also when a device that has been repaired and its radio module has been replaced or re-flashed, an
account has been changed (such an ESN swap), or the subscriber account has been refreshed (for
example, the Mobile Network Operator has deleted and re-activated the subscriber), the device has no
way of knowing this. Hence the requirement for manually provision a device.
This procedure is applicable to the following devices:


GX400 and LS300 Verizon/Sprint
Raven X V4228, Raven XE V222x, Raven XT V2227(USB connection*), Pinpoint X V4328
running latest firmware 4.0.11.003
Connecting to modem using ACEmanager
After powering on the AirLink device and ensuring that you have an IP-based connection via Ethernet,
Wi-Fi, or USB, log on to ACEmanager by entering http://192.168.13.31:9191 in your web browser, or by
entering another IP address depending on the interface you select.
The default login credentials are: Login: user, and Password: 12345.

*If you are connecting via USB, download the USB drivers from the Support page for your AirLink model:

Requirements


The device should have an antenna connected.
In the ACEmanager 4.0, go to the Status tab. The Signal Strength or RSSI should not be greater
than -100dbm. For best results RSSI should be between -60 dbm to -90 dbm.


Verizon devices should be in a home network (not roaming).
In ACEmanager > WAN/Cellular, verify that Mobile IP is set as “Mobile IP Preferred” for Verizon
and “Mobile IP only” for Sprint.
Running Activation:
Connect the device, launch ACEmanager, and go to the WAN/Cellular tab. Click "Expand all" to see all
information in this menu tab.
In the “Reactivation” section at the end of the menu, click the “Reactivation” button to activate the device
on the network.
Note:

If the Network State on ACEmanager > Status > Home shows “Data connection failed”, contact
your Mobile Network Operator to verify that the account and APN have been properly assigned
/created.
All other AirLink modems such as the Raven X V4221, Raven XT V2221, Pinpoint X V4321 should be
activated using a Setup wizard that you can download from the Sierra Wireless downloads page below :
