JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title:
Senior Design Engineer
Reporting To:
Engineering Manager
Salary:
T.B.A- dependant on experience
Purpose:
To develop and design new products that will assist the company to
grow in a profitable manner.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
 Manage design projects and develop new products for Edge and recommend appropriate
timing for introduction to the market.
 Manage projects from concept, design, support build and installation
 Co-ordinate with colleagues to support the sales team with technical specifications, site
visits and technical advice throughout the process
 Meet regularly with Engineering Manager and Design team to ensure effective
communication of information relative to potential business improvement initiatives.
 Produce project status reports and other information as required by the Management team
to inform financial, sales and operational planning.
 Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve product quality and customer
satisfaction.
 Co-ordinate with other departments relative to engineering design.
 Follow Edge’s Company processes relating to equipment design
 Contribute in Edges continuous improvement initiatives
 Manage any external relationships which the company may develop with universities,
institutes or other organisations for the purpose of acquiring new knowledge or access to
technology for the purpose of diversifying the company’s product range.
 Ability to work on and oversee multiple projects at any one time
 Check and approve drawings using design processes, procedures and checklists.
 Supporting the sales team through preliminary technical specifications, site visits and
technical advice on products/process.
 Resolve design quality issues and manage the design and detailing of solutions and ensure
current projects are resolved also.
 Develop and train designers and draughters in design office processes and procedures.
 Liaison with Suppliers to ensure design is per manufacturing capabilities
