In the period following World War II, the United States entered
into an extended era of international conflict called the Cold
War, which influenced foreign and domestic policy for more
than 40 years.
Learning Targets:
6.1 I can explain the ideological differences that led to tensions between the Soviet
Union and the United States, in the years after World War II, and how that led to
changes in U.S. foreign policy.

How did the U.S. try to contain communism using the Marshall Plan,





Truman Doctrine, Eisenhower Doctrine and NATO?
How did domestic concerns of communism lead to the rise of
