Writing Composition /Language Arts~Grade: 6
R. Michelle Evans~Week 19 This would normally be writing week, but we are
trying to finish our English/Grammar unit before Christmas break.
~Standards:
L. 6.1: Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage
when writing or speaking.
L. 6.2: Demonstrate command of conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation,
and spelling when writing or speaking.
a. Use punctuation (comma, parentheses, dashes) to set off nonrestrictive/parenthetical
elements.
b. Spell correctly.
L.6.1: Use knowledge of language and its conventions when writing, speaking, reading , or
listening.
a. Vary sentence patterns for meaning, reader/listener interest, and style.

*do flashbacks so that they can find their own mistakes in their writing

*discuss yesterday’s assignment
*begin study guide which is an exact copy of the test
Wednesday: We will:
*do flashbacks so that they can find their own mistakes in their writing
*review yesterday’s assignment
*play review game
*remind assessment tomorrow
Thursday: We will:
*bellwork/flashback
*assessment
*if finish early, we will try to finish our on demands number 5 letter
Friday: We will:
*bellwork/flashback so they can find their own errors and identify figurative language
*finish on demand 5 letter
