Carey Bundy
Project Manager
Great Rivers Greenway District
Carey Bundy is a project manager at Great Rivers Greenway District. Her main responsibilities are overseeing the
planning through construction on a variety of capital projects for the District. She oversees that development in four greenway
corridors—the River des Peres Greenway, the Mississippi River Greenway, the Confluence Greenway, and Gravois Greenway.
Carey is overseeing the Central Riverfront Project along Leonor K. Sullivan Blvd for the District. The Central Riverfront is a
portion of the CityArchRiver project. The project runs from Chouteau Avenue to Biddle Street connecting to the North Riverfront
Trail.
In addition to the Central Riverfront Project, Carey recently completed two construction projects along the River des Peres
Greenway adding four additional miles of to the greenway system.
Prior to joining the District Carey worked at Saint Louis University in the Department of Public Policy. She received her master’s
degree in Urban Planning and Real Estate Development from Saint Louis University. She is a member of the American Institute of
Certified Planners.
Anna Leavey
Program Manager
CityArchRiver 2015 Foundation
Anna Leavey is the Program Manager for CityArchRiver 2015 Foundation. CityArchRiver is the lead organization on
the construction projects that will connect Downtown St. Louis with the Arch grounds and riverfront. Prior to joining CityArchRiver
Anna was Director of Construction for BJC HealthCare. She joined BJC in 2006 and transitioned to the CityArchRiver 2015 Foundation
at the end of 2013. Anna is overseeing the private funding portion of the $380M project, including a conservancy program that
extends past the completion of construction.
Anna holds a Masters Degree in Construction Management from Washington University in St. Louis, a Masters of Architecture
from the same institution and a Bachelor of Arts from Smith College. In addition she studied architecture at University College
London and participated in a summer program at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. She is a member of the Construction
Management Association of America, the American Institute of Architects, holds a Missouri Real Estate Salesperson-Broker license,
and is a Master Gardener.
Deanna Venker
Area Engineer
City of St. Louis
Deanna received her BS degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla in 1994 and earned her
professional license in 1999. In January 1995, Deanna started her career with Missouri Department of
Transportation as a traffic engineer. In 2000, she was promoted to Traffic Operations Assistant in St. Charles County where she was
responsible for overseeing traffic operations and the Area Signing/ Striping Crew.
Deanna was promoted to Area Engineer for St. Louis City in 2001. Deanna is involved in the coordination of all MoDOT projects,
construction and maintenance and Special Events within the City of St. Louis. She develops partnerships with the city government,
communities, interest groups and major businesses of St. Louis. Major projects and Events include: Poplar Street Bridge (2014),
CityArchRiver2015, Mississippi River Bridge (2014), New I-64 project (2009), Busch Stadium (2005), Post Season Play, Presidential
Visits, Fair St. Louis and numerous parades, marathons, 5K’s, and festivals.
Deanna is an active member in Women’s Transportation Seminar chapter for the St. Louis Metro Area. Deanna was elected
Treasurer in 2003 and again in 2006. In 2009, Deanna was elected President. Deanna is a 2006 graduate of the CORO Leadership
Center of St. Louis. In 2013, the Missouri Society of Professional Engineer selected Deanna as the “Outstanding Engineer in
Government.” Also in 2013, Society of Women Engineers – St. Louis granted Deanna with the “Public Sector Achievement Award.”
