SE REGION STUDY GUIDE:
-
A region is an area that shares the same landforms, customs, and weather.
-
The United States is divided into 5 regions.
-
The 5 regions of the United States are: the Northeast, the Southeast, the
Southwest, the West, and the Midwest.
-
You would most likely see beaches in the SE region because it is on the coast of
the Atlantic Ocean.
-
Products that come from the SE region are citrus fruits, cotton, and peanuts.
-
The climate of the SE is usually sunny and warm.
-
The Southeast region is good for growing crops because of its flat land, rich soil,
and long growing season.
-
The SE region is known for its warm weather and vacation spots.
-
In parts of the SE region, people mine for coal.
-
In parts of the SE region, people work on oil rigs.
-
The SE region has many different landforms like rolling hills, rich river valleys, and
high flat areas called plateaus in the northern part of the region. The states in
the lower region have beaches, swamps, and wetlands.
-
The SE region is home to jazz, bluegrass, blues, and country music.
