New Classification(Branching System)
They are classify organisms into Three
domains(are the cell types that organism has)
1-Archaea domain
2-Bacteria domain
3-Eukarya domain
. Each domain sub divided into kingdoms
followed by phyla , class , order , family,
genus and species .
we will focus on domain and kingdom :
1-Domain Bacteria :Includes organisms
commonly referred to as bacteria which are
unicellular prokaryotes ,they are tiny
organisms that reproduce a sexually ,for
example(the common bacteria that make us
sick and blue-green algae(cyanobacteria).
This domain has just one kingdom :bacteria).
2-Domain Archaea : primitive bacteria that live
in the harsh environments, specialized group of
unicellular prokaryotes(ancient bacteria) ,scientists,
discovered these unique organisms(extremophiles)
living in areas of extreme conditions some archaea
found in hot spring and are called thermophiles(heat
loving) other founds in very salt conditions called
halophiles(salt loving) or low pH . This domain has
just one kingdom archaea .
3- Domain Eukarya : Includes all
eukaryotes ,has four kingdoms
:animalia , Plantae, Protista and
fungi .They are classified based on
the complexity of their cellular
organization, their ability to obtain
nutrients, and their mode of
reproduction.
Why do scientists classify organism important
because:
It is impossible to study every living organism
from an individual level. Therefore, classification
is necessary to facilitate easy study of organisms.
