The current is induced (caused
to flow) in a wire when it cuts
across magnetic lines of force
Can occur two ways:
1.
Move the iron core in and
out of a coil of wire
2.
Electromagnetism
Attach coils to a voltage source
and leave core inside coils

►A
wire wound into a coil has a
much stronger magnetic field than
a straight wire
►Two ways to increase the strength:
 The more turns in the coil, the
stronger the field
 The more current flowing through
the wire, the stronger the field
