Here is a cross section of a typical corn seed:
embryo
1. What is the function of the seed? That is, what does it do?
2. Where does it get the energy to make this happen?
3. Where does it get the building blocks to make this possible?
4. What molecules must be in the seed to support these roles...and how does the seed use them?
[it might help to list different plant cell parts, then determine what molecules are needed to construct these parts]
5. This is a plant. Why doesn’t it work the same way as other plants, and use photosynthesis?
